Joseph Kosinski promises thrilling camera shots on new Formula One movie – Film News |

Joseph Kosinski has promised “thrills behind closed doors” on his new Formula 1 film.

The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ director has revealed he will use effects created solely by the camera to make viewers feel like they’re driving at 200mph in the film – which has the working title ‘Formula 1’ and should star Brad Pitt with seven-time world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton co-producing.

Joseph told The Wrap: “Certainly seeing people react to a film filmed behind closed doors and authentically captured like ‘Top Gun’ makes us feel that our approach is working and is appreciated by audiences.

“It’s almost funny to me to see people who are so enamored with real photography. Younger people almost haven’t seen a lot of it. They’re so used to CGI being a tool of big movies that when you shoot something for real, He feels innovative.

“This is exactly the approach of the ‘Formula 1’ … shoot real races and real cars and capture them. It will be a huge challenge but exciting for me.”

Apple won an auction war fierce for the rights to the film who will see Pitt playing the role of a pilot who comes out of his retirement to supervise a promising recruit.

Ehren Krueger is writing the screenplay with “Top Gun” producer Jerry Bruckheimer involved in the film.

Hamilton recently suggested he had no plans to appear in the film.

The Mercedes driver said: “I’m not planning to be there, no.

“Really, my responsibility and something that I take on is just to make sure that the cast and the crew in the background are diverse.
