Tickets for the highly anticipated sequel Frozen 2 went on sale yesterday, November 4, and sales are already hitting new highs.
We already talked about it Frozen 2 would break records and have the potential to pick up other Disney movie sales in 2019, as it was expected to gross over $ 100 million at the box office during its opening weekend. Now that we have the official numbers after tickets go on sale, we just can’t believe the result!
In its first day of advance ticket sales, Frozen 2 broke records as the sequel sold more tickets than any other animated feature film via Atom Tickets and Fandango.
Advance tickets for Frozen 2 became available on November 4, just weeks before the sequel’s November 22 release. Now, Disney holds the top three spots for the best first day of animated film ticket sales at both ticketing sites. (Toy story 4 and Incredibles 2 are in second and third place on both platforms.)
On Atom tickets, Frozen 2 broke records for day one ticket sales of every Disney live-action remake, which includes the The Lion King, Aladdin, and the 2017 release of The beauty and the Beast.
Plus, as we head into the holiday movie season, Frozen 2 is Atom Ticket’s biggest pre-sale movie and just behind Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Frozen 2 will follow the story of Queen Elsa, Princess Anna and the rest of the Frozen gang on a whole new journey as they embark on an ancient land to discover where Elsa’s magical powers originate.
It has been confirmed that Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff will all return to express their memorable and iconic Frozen characters, but that’s not all the hype. Frozen fans are also eagerly awaiting the debut of All-New characters such as Elsa and Anna’s mother, who will be voiced by Evan Rachel Wood and Lt. Mattias, who will be voiced by Sterling K. Brown. Lieutenant Mattias will be a character Elsa and Anna meet on their remarkable journey through the Enchanted Forest.
But what is Frozen to be without an iconic and catchy song? Frozen 2 fans will have the pleasure of performing on another iconic Queen Elsa song. “Into the Unknown” will be Elsa’s theme song in the sequel as she learns to cope with this voice that continues to keep her away from her family.
The long-awaited sequel, Frozen 2, hits theaters later this month on November 22. Tickets are on sale now.
