Quintessential Quintuplets Second Trailer Released

TBS Animation has started streaming a new trailer for the upcoming Quintessential Quintuplets the movie Sunday animated film. The final entry in the popular harem series is expected to be over two hours long and will premiere in Japanese cinemas on May 20.

An in-game adaptation of the film was announced in February and will be released on June 2 on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

At Negi Haruba The Quintessential Quintuplets manga was published in Kodansha’s weekly Shōnen magazine from 2017 to 2020, amassing 14 collected volumes throughout its run. The popular harem title has various anime and game adaptations alongside the upcoming movie finale. A new series was announced in January and will begin serialization from March 31.


Tezuka Productions animated the first season of the anime, which was released during the winter 2019 season. A second season, The Quintessential Quintuplets was animated by Bibury Animation Studios and aired during the Winter 2021 season.

Satoshi Kuwabara (Black Jack, Dagashi Kashi 2) directed the first season while Keiichirō Ōchi (Hinamatsuri, my teen romantic comedy SNAFU Climax!) managed the script. Kaori (Shirobako, how to keep a mummy) took over directing the second season, and Ōchi returned as screenwriter.

Masato Jinbo (Fate/kaleid Prisma liner☆Illya, ChäoS;Child) will helm the film, with Bibury Animation Studios returning to animate. Ōchi will once again return as a screenwriter, along with Hanae Nakamura (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Roads Lead to Death!, Clockwork Planet) and Miki Sakurai (Adachi and Shimamura, girlfriend, girlfriend) dealing with the music of the film.

Kodansha USA publishes the manga series in English, while the anime can be streamed on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
