Halle Berry “definitely” wants to direct another movie.
The ‘Moonfall’ star is desperate to ‘get behind the camera’ after her debut film ‘Bruised’ – which she also starred in – was released on Netflix last year, but isn’t sure what’s next realization project.
The 55-year-old actress told Collider, “I’m going to step behind the camera again. I can’t tell you what I’m doing for sure yet, but I really want to do it again.
The Oscar-winning actress revealed that she didn’t want an acting role in the project, as she finds directing quite demanding.
Halle said: “And I definitely won’t be performing this time around. The staging is pretty big.
The ‘Catwoman’ star has detailed the “difficult” struggles she faced funding ‘Bruised’ – which centers on former UFC fighter Jackie Justice.
Halle said: “Finding funding was really difficult. One day we had money, one day we didn’t. Even once, when we started touring, I was told countless times that we were going to be shut down because the money just wasn’t coming in as promised. So you know, but do things like that because they’re labors of love. And I had to tell the story, so I had to keep moving forward, but it was really difficult on so many levels.
She chose the film – which tells the story of Jackie trying to build a relationship with her son whom she gave up for adoption as a baby – because it’s work that constitutes “so much” of her.
Halle said: “Mostly because I directed it, played it, like it’s so much who I am. If you really want to get an idea of who I am, the totality of who I am, as an artist, from behind the camera to in front of the camera.
