Colin Firth open to another Mamma Mia! film – Film news | Film-News.co.uk

Colin Firth would be happy to participate in a possible third Mamma Mia! film.

The Oscar-winning actor played Harry, one of Amanda Seyfried’s character’s possible fathers, in the 2008 jukebox musical, which featured ABBA songs. He and the rest of the original cast returned ten years later for Mamma Mia in 2018! Here We Go Again, which was another box office success.

When asked if there was any glimmer of hope for another episode, Colin said on Good Morning America that more movies were a possibility and he would love to reunite with his cast members.

“I think it could happen,” he said Thursday. “If you manage to do a second, I guess you can do a third, a fourth and a fifth. It was already a miracle… And if people wanted it, I would do it just to see my friends again on a beautiful island.”

Coincidentally, her co-star Amanda told Variety earlier this week that she would love to do a third movie.

“I hope we do another one, but you know nobody talks to me. I know if you ask any of the others they’ll be like, ‘Sure, but that’s not gonna happen.’ is what we said about the second, and it was better than the first!” she stated. “But listen, sorry, if you’re a fan of the second, you’ll be a fan of the third no matter what the story. I don’t want to wait another 10 years! We should do this before I’m 40.”

The 36-year-old added that she is “in love” with her co-stars, including Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgard, Christine Baranski and Julie Walters. While Meryl’s character Donna died in the films, Amanda insisted she should be involved in the third film.

“Meryl will be a ghost because she’s dead. Or maybe she’ll come back as Donna’s twin sister or something. She should,” she joked.
